Ramnagar Trek

The drive from Cunningham Road to Ramnagara started at 5.30am.
We went via Mysore highway and an hour into the drive, we stopped at a darshini setup for breakfast. Having thatte idlis, ending it with coffee, we resumed our journey.
After about another 40mins we reached the main entrance of Ramnagar Eco forest gate by 07.55am and were requested by the forest guards to wait until 08.00am to enter. We paid less than 150rs for entry and parking of the vehicle. After parking the car, we climbed up the stairs which naturally converted into muddy trails, surrounded by lush dense greenery and flowering plants. Our first landmark was a big Hindu temple, behind which, the path split into a fork, one leading up the hill and one descending into wilderness.
We took the path descending into the wilderness, walking for 25mins through majestic rocks, rays of the sun escaping the overarching leaves, we reached a small opening showcasing the valleys of the area, housing a small Hanuman temple. Looking around and exploring, we found ourselves walking back up the same trail as that was the only path.
We reached the landmark again and halted to look around. It was about 09.00am, we saw some priests and some nearby college students walking around.
Enthusiasm still peaking, the path upwards seemed very inviting. Taking that route, we walked for about 25 mins, which was breath taking as there were several designated view points throughout the trail. On reaching a certain point we realised that the forest trail had ended and we were confronted with a boulder, steps chiselled on it, with weak railings, leading 70-90degrees up to the summit.
Mustering all our courage and strength, mentally preparing ourselves for the last leg of the exploration, we started our ascent.
Not looking down, holding the railings, and focusing on complete body balance, we reached the top in 10minutes.
Exhaling a sigh a relief, excitement and a sense of victory we just walked the entire flat top and enjoyed the 360 degrees panoramic birds eye view of the overlapping valleys covered in dense forests.
